The 990 was a cracking bike, I can't see the 1050 being anything other than an upgrade.
I've got one....same as the 1190 but a bit slower....
And cheaper, with a few missing bits..
You could sell him yours, when the R arrives!

In the real world they (and the 1190) are just as fast as each other but the 1190 when compared to the 1050, has more farkles and power at licence shredding speeds
Sadly, there do not appear to be many or even any cheap new 1050's about now and the price has shot back up from £8295 to £10995 for a 2016 model on which the only difference over the 2015 appears to be a powder coated rear sub-frame
If it were my money and the fact that there are still 2015 1190's to be had for £10995 I'd go for the 1190

No, I went to collect the ERGO seat i'd ordered as the standard one is an instrument of torture... I can safely say it is a great improvement.... if anybody is buying a 1050, budget another £260 for the front and rear ERGO seats...... 1000% improvement.
As for buying the R or an SA, nothing is going to happen until 2017... need to get a year out of this one first!!
