I have confirmed the 11th of November 2007 for the FBoS Bikers Specific First Aid Course. @ discount price of £29 per attendee. 12 places Max, so book early to garentee a place.

This is an all day cirtificated training course, being given by Ian Thomas (Paramedic) of North Wales ambulance service. It is a recognised qualification.
The exact venue within north wales will be set shortly.

Also for those who wish there is a oppurtunity to undertake a days BikeSafe course, to improve or refresh your road craft, awareness and techniques on the saturday, for a discount price of £65 (BikeSafe all day Sat 10th, and FBOS all day Sunday 11th). You will get the oppurtunity to ride some of the best roads in north wales whilst improving your own safety and skills.

Should people wish not to take up the oppurtunity of the BikeSafe course on the saturday, then an alternative days riding can be arranged for anyone wishing to make a weekend of it.

Accomodation:
Anyone planning to come up on saturday night or even friday night, if you let me know I will looking to the accomodation options/discounts.

Saturday Night Meal/ Entertainment: If there is sufficient interest, I am sure some suitable enterntainment etc can be arrange for Saturday night.

My form is going today..

Grendal, I am booking just for the FBoS myself at the moment, due to a lack of funds, but if no one else takes up the other place to meet the min booking of two for the bikesafe, i will probably take it as I also want to do it. Just new braided hoses for the front are needed urgently.

Judging by the pm's i have had, were looking good on numbers.

Hi Rocks, I will be staying with friends on Saturday night near to Bangor so will be unable to attend the meal unfortunately.

Confirmation and Accomodation

Accomodation: I am speaking with a BnB in St Asaph tomorrow, to check their availability and see if a deal is do-able.. will post details here in the morning.


In the meantime, had the following letter from Bike Safe

Dear John,
First Bike on Scene Course - 2007

May I take this opportunity to thank you for booking a North Wales BikeSafe first aid course licensed by FBoS. I acknowledge receipt of your application, and I am pleased to confirm that a place has been reserved for the course on the 11th November 2007.

This is a police/NHS initiative to affect casualty reduction by education. The attendant will be given advice by a fully qualified paramedic instructor and motorcyclist on RTC scene management and first responder skills applicable especially to motorcycle collisions.
The workshops will be held at the Fire Station Coast Road Rhyl. This can be found on the left-hand side as leaving the town of Rhyl towards Prestatyn.

Please note that the workshops will commence at 9:00am and will finish at approx 5:00pm. You will be met at the main entrance and taken to the appropriate lecture room. It would be appreciated if all persons attending were on time.

Part of the lessons is dealing with safe helmet removal and it would be preferred if you were to bring your helmet with you for this exercise also because there is some floor exercises candidates may wish to consider their dress code for sake of embarrasement.

The Fire Service has kindly offered to provide lunch free of extra charge.
At the conclusion of the workshop you will receive a document wallet containing a gift pack, feedback form and a certificate from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh will be forwarded to the successful student.

Just heard from Paul,

We have met the min numbers..
So far 6 people booked for the FBoS course and two for the bike safe so we have the min number of people for both. So both are now garenteed as best we can.

Limited places..

Right, Paul has said there are two places left, that was on monday and I know of three (inc Glynn) who have possibley sent in forms.
So will check with Paul on the final numbers looking.

The good news is that there will be another FBoS course on the 20th of Jan in the north wales area. Final details and price to be arranged.


Re- sat night meal. I am still up for a meal, but will have to check on numbers interested...
