110,000 miles and climbing!!

Paddy Tyson (of MAG) did at 250,000 miles on an MZ Saxon Fun.
Go everywhere flat out & a stroker won't rattle itself to bits.

Are you sure? Thats nearly 2500 miles a week. How did you have time to get the car serviced and take your holiday etc.

Didn't say it was a car :-)

It's a Daf CF and yes, it has 980,000km on the clock at 5 years old. I've not been the only one using it though ;-)

Good man yourself Chris. :thumb2

And they are foolish to in my opinion. Most engines should do 200,000 miles easily enough with regular maintenance as they are so well built. I've seen plenty of bikes in the US with starship mileage whereas we just think they will explode if you either do more than 3000 miles a year or run them after the warranty is out.

It's true you have to keep on top of maintenance but at least you have a bike you know inside out, can make it "yours" and there is no depreciation after a few years.

Never a truer word. I'm at 107,000 with my 1150 now.

Short journeys and lots of cold starts do the nasties. I recently saw a seemingly nearly new Honda Valkyrie F6C at a grey importers like this

It was an 01 or 02 with virtually perfect chrome and alloy and 80,000 miles on the clock. But coming from a place where every ride is 50+ miles and no road salt it looked almost perfect.
