This has not been reported for a little while so I thought it may be as well to highlight the weak area of the gearbox sub frame mounting point. Potentially based upon dealer prices it could write the bike off if like me you have bent the sub frame.
I am not sure how it happened but it occoured off road during the White horse tour during an off road section. I was not aware that the gear box had failed on the right hand side until I washed the bike the next day so I may have riden the bike for up to 100 miles with the fault.

Gear box

T.T do a hard part for the 1100 gear box is this what it is intended to prevent?

The cure to the damaged gearbox was to swap the internals over into a new case, which Barry Barber carried out for me (07810713710).
Because the subframe was bent ( probably due to prolonged riding without support from the right hand side gear box mounting), I had to replace this too.

I have also fitted Touratech Hard Parts to both sides of the gearbox and also the steering head.
So, an expensive day out, I thought that I might need the hard parts if I ventured off road but also thought "It will never happen to me".
