1100 front indicators alternative?

Both the front indicators on my bike are pretty beaten up and are held together with glue and tape. Is there an alternative to the horribly expensive and fragile o/e kit? Universal ones don't really fit as they tend to be 8mm thread, and the o/e ones are 10 or 12mm.

These aftermarket LED as linked above, what modifications are needed?
Because they are LED, from what i have read over the years, the will flash at 2X rate.
How does one prevent that with the original wiring system?

2 options

1/ Parallel resistor 25W rated
2/ Mod to the flasher unit (IIRC its in the font of all knowledge) by cutting a track
