We ALL had to start somewhere !!
Before you start :- Look at the right side AND the rear brake calipers, which may have a strange cylindrical nipple "thing" its a fill point and its how BM fill the systems at the factory.
You may be lucky at this stage in life they will both have been replaced with ordinary brake nipples
If so??? just ignore the replace nipples bit and get on with it
You can just unscrew the fill points (a little heat from a heat gun "may" be necessary so do not just force it, if it does not move at first) and you can just fit a std M10 x1 16mm long thread brake nipple or BMW 34211236793, So you undo the "fill point" and whip that out and have the replacement nipple ready to go in
You should also get a wee bit of tubing that fits onto the brake nipples on your bike and a coffee jar or a Jam jar, (they are slightly taller and glass is heavier so not as liable to topple over) and you put an inch of fluid in the bottom making sure when you are bleeding that it is covering the end of the tube
Okay so hopefully you now have standard brake nipples and tube, jar and fresh DOT 4 Brake fluid, Do NOT USE DOT 5 fluid in BMW brake systems (its silicone and can affect seals etc Its also coloured "purple" for a marker )
On top of your ABS unit there are two more bleed nipples, If you are confident enough to do you fluid changes then ????
You should bleed from the Handlebar to the Nipple marked VR first (It stands for Vorderrad for front wheel) until you get clean fluid out Then go to each of the front calipers, Right side then left side, just do the same thing as the ABS unit and flush until you get clean fluid out
Close each nipple as you leave it, to go to the next one N.B. Do NOT swing on it when its tight, its tight, Just "nip" them up
If you try to force them you can jack the threads out, because its a definite point where the nipple and caliper meet so twisting the brake nipple further with the spanner to make sure its "good n tight"!, does nothing except put a strain on the threads
EDIT The back end, may have the same cylindrical nipple thing so you may need a second brake nipple, This one is smaller its an M6 or BMW part number 34212314017
Same story just Bleed at "HR" (Hinter rad Rear Wheel) nipple on ABS unit, nip that up and go to the caliper and flush to there and nip up the the nipple
Sorry thats so long hopefully it covered most of the stuff
Have fun
