1100 headlamp mods-single to twin

I'm thinking i might be able to build a prototype twin lamp unit for my GS1100, if anyone has bought one and fitted it, please could you supply me with any photos and details, i particularly need the diameter and depth of the twin lamps, so i can source something as a donor.With a bit of luck and some ingenuity i might be able to make something thats not too heath robinson and post details for those that might fancy it.

Touratech used to do a twin projector lamp thingy for the 1150 and maybe the 1100 too - but it meant losing all the instruments too! Personally I liked the single on my 1100, it was good for vastly illegal speeds on B-roads and it was a bit of a shock when I bought an new 1150 and found the lovely looking twin set-up was a complete liability. If you use it for riding keep the one you've got.

I`d love to know exactly what kind of single lamp it was,because the stock one on mine is fecking criminal....

1100GS single bulb with a 120 watt PIAA bulb fed by a dedicated feed via relay is pretty good.

If you don't like your standard 1100 lamp NEVER try to ride an 1150 in the dark!

please tell me more, what model bulb did you use and exactly what is involved in installing and running a relay?
