As some may have read, my 1150 GS was completely scrapped by a fiesta driver recently. By some miracle (having seen the odd bits of iron lying around the scene of the crash) I am relatively unscathed, and so planning ahead.
With a knackered sump and rear sub-frame, it is likely that the bike will be written off. So I'm thinking "what next?"
I did about 22000 miles on the 1150 and loved it. I've also had a 1100 for a short space of time and thought that was very good, too. Also a second hand one would be a good £1500-2000 cheaper than another 1150.
So, what are the major differences between the two apart from the engine size and cosmetics.
Any flaws they are known for? eg the rear subframe gearbox mounts for the 1100 are supposed to be weaker.
Which is better at green laning?
Does an ADV tank fit on the 1100?
: stuff like that.
