Went down south over the bank holiday & lost the rear brake on the way down & when i checked it the next day (in daylight) the final drive was covered in brake fluid, turns out it had burst under the thin rubber sleave so had a braided one made :D bloody 1100 only done 88,000 mile

Only 88000

get your money back!, mines done 72000 looks like more expense commiong up!.

I've just received a full set of Goodridge hoses (with S/S) fittings... but am curious about one thing...

The pipe from the rear reservoir that links into the ABS system.. does this have a 'shelf life' - should I get this replaced with something newerer or strongerer at the same time as having the lines themselves changed over? Bikes booked into those nice people at Pleasely to do the job on the 20th - so I have a bit of time to buy whatevers recommended.

TBH I've had no problems with the brakes - but after reading Steptoes warning about the front upper line failing on some bikes - thought I'd err on the side of caution.

new hoses

At least you've had your new goodridge hoses delivered - I've had a set on order from Motoworks for two weeks now :nenau- Seems theres been a rush on 1100 braided hoses.- panic buying folowing the recent warning - anybody got shares in braided hoses? :augie(I'm off to the Alps in 8hrs with the old rubber hoses still on).:bounce1:bounce1 weather forecast is good and it should be a superb week:roll

Took nearly 3 weeks matey.. I wanted a set with the upper line a bit longer to allow for a set of risers. They arrived yesterday - would be 3 weeks exactly on monday. Its a wonder a company like motorworks doesn't keep them in stock.

Oh.. and before anyone says.. I tried HEL - sent them an email and it wasn't answered - tried ringing them on a weekday morning and no answer.. the goodridge lines with SS fittings was just about the same price.. So they got my business.

Got some braided hoses from Motobins and they are brilliant on my barely run in 57,000 miler!! Fat delivery and good service.

As a point, I`ve just rebuilt my 96 1100GS and absolutely love riding it so much that the 1200ADV gets left to sulk in the corner. It just seems right....:thumb
