Speed, acceleration, torque? Maybe there's very little in it, and I guess the handling's the same? I've got a '03 1150 and love it, but have never ridden an 1100.
I have an 04 1150ADV (enduro gear box)... and a 97 1100 with an adventure tank. Both have a set of verns lovely panniers, my 04 has sw-motech crash bars and the 97 has H&B. Due to the gearbox being different... I can't really compare the two like that... however... if I was buying again and could only have one.... I think I'd take the 1100. I think it is geared better for around town and general bimbles. Because the 1100 is lower than my adventure if probably feels a bit smaller but I believe the actual measurable difference is insignificant. Speed... same. Acceleration... I probably drive the same so I'm guessing no difference though I believe someone may be able to get through 5 gears quicker than the 6 of the 04 bike. Torque... feels about the same but I'm no expert so I don't ride as hard as some other forum members probably do. Like most things... some of these 'differences' are really only important if one rides to the bikes max performance... otherwise its nothing more than number. If you ever get down to devon you're welcome to try them both and see what you think.
