R1100GS exploded views of the clutch actuating arm at the back of the gear box. I suspect that while replacing theclutch something went wrong in that area because the pushing rod will not press against the spring plate in the clutch assembly.
it seems "too short" and the level is moving free forward/backward

GS in distress

Steptoe is there a ball bearing in the piston that acts on the pushrod to prevent it drilling through the diaphragm spring plate? looks about 6mm 1/4". I have never stripped an oilhead but looking at the manual diags ..could be as not all parts are always shown. I await being shot down in flames:D

yes .

the thrust piston is the same as fitted in the K series and later airheads, and the small bearing that sits in the fibre piston can come out, but Yosi tells me that its in place on his piston, and that the diaphram spring center hasn't fallen out.

I've given him some parts that he can try out .

Update on the clutch saga:

Maverick is declared innocent!! So leave the poor man alone...

We were given by Motobins a friction plate that was slighly dished, enough for the rod not to connect properly...

Buggers!! Hopefully, I'll get a replacement this weekend...

Many thanks to Steptoe (my guru) for solving the mystery...

And many thanks to everyone foe the suggestions, taking the piss, etc...

Yosi I told you we should not bang that thing in with a hammer :D

Ermm I mean yes that bloody faulty stuff they supply these days

All honesty we did everthing by the book and took great care with the installation. I would of never figured out it was a faulty clutch plate, first time ever I came across that(well like all the rest of the problems I have come across)
