Hello all,

I have bought one of Les Wassells hid kits for my 1100 (after all the good write-ups!). The problem I'm having is that the new bulb catches on the back of the plastic that the headlight fits in before the headlight is seated. It needs to go back another 5 or 6 mm. I can't see a way round this (I've reduced the length of the stud for the headlight beam adjustment as much as I dare but its still not going back far enough). Judging by the praise Les gets on the site I can't imagine that he's sold me a kit not compatable with my bike so I must be doing something wrong!

Anyone had any experience of this?

Any help much appreciated.

Phil Sewell.

p.s I've emailed Les but haven't had a reply, it is the wekend after all. I need to get this sorted if poss this weekend, away up to Scotland all being well week after next.So any help..............

Are you sure its the bulb contacting that bolt? I had to move most of the connectors to outside the headlamp shell when I fitted mine, I had read the threads about shortening that bolt and initially thought that was the problem.
(my kit ws not supplied by Les)

Thanks for that Stewart. I started off with idea of getting the connectors in behind the lens but quickly realized theres no room .
I've since offered up the plastic cowling holding the lens on and it seemed to sit ok so I've put it all together and its works, so pleased with that. Just need to tidy up the wires now.

I'm interested to see the difference, the original lights were shocking I thought.

cheers,
Phil.
