Hi all,

I've just removed the front subframe thingy from my '96 1100GS and couldn't help but think there was an easier way to take off the oil cooler. Rather than disturb the fittings on the cooler I thought I'd take the hoses off the engine but it won't come apart that easily! I had to take the hoses off with it all dangling in mid-air.

So, when I get the subframe back all nicely powder coated, what's the easy way to re-assemble? Can you fit the subframe and still get at the fittings on the cooler to fit the hoses?

TIA

Dick

I've taken my oil cooler off with the sub frame still attached so it should go back with it attached - although I don't take anything for granted with these bloody weird bikes now.

Assuming waterloo700's profile is correct, he has an 1100 so it sounds like I'll be ok. I think steptoe's letting us sweat before coming up with the definitive answer:D

1100 it is. I'll be fitting it back soon and I'll write a definitive idiot's guide (me being a definitive idiot and all - I'm perfectly qualified).
