Hi all!
I have, over the years, noticed a small amount of petrol coming out of one of the pipes routed to the back of the bike and assumed that it was because I had overfilled the tank. This has seriously discoloured the drive shaft cover and I am having it resprayed. Had I taken more notice before it was too late I would have realised that it did not just happen when I had recently filled the tank. Has anyone else come across this problem and how can I prevent it happening in the future? Helpful comments only PLEASE
Thanks
Mike

The overflow pipes should be long enough to take the petrol past the paralever.

One of the pipes takes any petrol/water away from the counter bore the cap sits in? Being more careful when filling will help.

Could be a connection in the tank [on the inside of the pump hatch] is leaking. Possibly a jubilee clip [or something similar] that retains the pipe is missing

Thanks very much. My bike is a stolen recovered and I can see by your picture that the pipes have been wrongly sited by the guy who sold it to me. I'll also investigate the possible leak.
