I have an old 1100gs and aint in any rush to sell it. Infact i probably wont. But as ya do im often mooching evilbay and similar sites for bits n pieces and have noticed the prices look to climbing. Plus i was talking to a guy at a cafe who'd sold his 1150gsa n gone back to an 1100 like mine. Not that i want to open that "which is the best" can of worms. But has anyone else noticed the rise in prices?
I dont think its a seasonal thing either as i ride my bike all year round so an always on the lookout for bargains.

I think you're right. I tried to sell my 96 40k miler last year for £2k but got messed about so much on ebay by so called "buyers" that I gave up and it's stayed in the garage ever since. Looking at current advertised prices, I reckon it's worth another £3-£400 now.

Hmm, not sure I'd agree that they are climbing but they are stationary.

I was looking for one a while ago and could have picked up something really decent for around 2k which I think is the money for a clean standard one. I was offered one with lots of extra's for 3k which I think was over priced. I made him a sensible offer and he declined and still has it for sale!! You have to remember that these bikes are now nearly 20 years old!

Saw a decent 04 plate 1150GSA go the other day for £3400.00.

You will se them advertised at high prices but that's not always what the seller gets for them.

Seems to be a lot of interest in them over on ADVrider in the US and not a lot on the market. I may be wrong but it seems to me there's a lot of interest in bikes capable of high mileage over there.

I think the market is different over here. Even though my bike is mechanically sound with good running gear I don't think it'll ever be worth over £2000 because it's got 138,000 miles on the clock - even though there's plenty in the States with over 300,000 - and a few with 500,000 :thumby:

That puts mine into three figures value then lol with over 168k last time i looked haha.

Yep - you might as well keep it now :D When I was approaching 100,000 I thought about getting something else but decided to keep it as it wasn't worth to someone else what is was worth to me. I had it refurbed at 114,000 (didn't have to touch the engine obviously ;)), I've recently fitted a 'John chip' and it's good to go - it'll see me out :D:thumby:

Like i said ive no need or desire to sell mine. It's also got one of johns chips plus a few other mods so cant fault it realy. Its a good old bus. Looks like its earnt the mileage too haha but mechanicaly i cant fault it.

Last December I part-exed my '94 50k 1100 at a main dealer and got £1k for it.
I know this was a low price but it had a couple of 'issues' which meant I just wanted to pass it on with no come backs. I took off the almost new Hyperpro shocks and Verns panniers and sold them separately. If I'd had the garage space, I'd have liked to have kept it but realistically, it would probably have just sat gathering dust until I got tired of moving it around ;)

As it had the later M97 gearbox freshly rebuilt by Scriminger, a new clutch and was cosmetically in very good condition, I like to think I'd have got 2 to 2.5k for it privately (without the issues) possibly more with the shocks and panniers.

As others have said, I don't think prices are climbing but they seem to have levelled out at around £2k for decent bikes

baby

mines only a baby with 63.000 with cracking history gear box sorted clutch ect should see me out also.:rob
