Had the bike recently serviced...no issues, she's a good one (80k on a 99 bike - had her 12 yrs myself)

Used her to commute for a couple of weeks no problem. The lighting was intermittent so I removed he tank to swop over the left hand switchgear. Happy days! She still rode perfect for a week, notionally 300 miles.

Couple of days later whilst going to work she cut out at some lights.
Loads of power in the battery, turned over great but no ignition. Parked her up, can of petrol out with son, still nothing so took the K to work.

Towed home the mile and parked up in the garage until weekend. She starts up now first time, but the fuel pump inside the tank sounds like it's on overtime, IYKWIM...

She starts first time, rides out of the garage great, but hasn't been for a proper spin since.

What are the thoughts of people way better at this than me...:thumb2

This is just a total guess, but: if the fuel pump is continually priming, could that mean that it isn't reaching the pressure it needs to think that it's primed? I don't know how they work, but is it an easy check to see if there is a leak somewhere?

Start simple is my motto!

AFAIK there is no pressure sensing involved in initial priming.
When you flick the ignition, the Motronic runs the pump for two seconds in order to pressurize the fuel system..
