Engine starting issue.

Hi, used my 1150rs 2 weeks ago and it was fine, filled the tank with premium petrol, put the bike in the garage, tried it today bike will fire up but very rough and then cuts out, strong smell of petrol from exhaust, checked plugs, any help please
Bike had new petrol pump and filter last year, Oddly as the engine dies I can hear the fuel pump run as it does when I turn the ignition on

Check the throttle cable on the RHS

Hi checked the throttle cable and action, fine on both sides, checked for fuel getting through and checked plugs for spark, it still fire up but only for a minute or two.

Does it die when revved? @Steptoe mentioned that he has seen that sort of issue with a failing Hall Effect Sensor.

I’m not an expert by any means but worth having a search against the bike symptoms?

If you have access to a manual, that should guide you through, there are many things it could be, check air filter/box and hoses, the tps is also a possibility

Hi. Doesn’t run long enough to try revving, if it runs 30 seconds it’s very lumpy with very low revs
