hello everyone,just been caught up in the worst thunderstorm ive seen in years,hail stones the size of golfballs,jap riders taking shelter whilst my trusted gs ploughed through it-FANTASTIC.anyway my left throttle bodys ticking like a good but what i want to know is will this effect performance or give me any noticable running issues?i,m asking this because i seem to have a intermitant running problem,feels like one pots bogging down with maybe a over rich issue,and the bikes tone seems to change note.any ideas?

I managed to get my ticking down in volume by having very little slack in the cables, I had it all synchronised nicely but the slack was allowing the tick to get loud, careful re-reading of the manual 
helped me to sort it, earplugs are a good thing too.

good tip there matey.i,ll adjust and try.i,ve read somewhere about having the t/bodys re-built so i,m gonna look into it,after all with only 27000 on the clocks if looked after i should see at least another 10 years out of this beasty

As Stewart says, I've improved my TB ticking by careful balancing but the right hand one still ticks - not really bad, but I notice it at traffic lights. However, I need to change the throttle cable now so I've got it all to do again 
Scriminger refurb TB's - I think I'll probably send mine to them over the winter - apparently they come back good as new.

better than new. I have been told by a bmw mechanic that the parts scriminger use means the ticking sound never comes back.

Scrimingers quoted me £50 per body plus postage, very reasonable IMO

I had a set overhauled by Steve Scriminger, he charges about £50 plus parts each side. It is better than Original because the spindle holes are bored straight through in line unlike original manufacture where they are done seperately each side of body. He puts em through an ultrasound tank as well to get them properly free from any fuel residue etc and uses better bushing material....

Steve Scriminger had my 1100 GS bike for 1/2 a day and did his refurb job on the TB's it's worth every penny he charges as the bike is better than ever before.
Because he had the bike in his workshop he did all of the setting up... valves, end float and tuning up etc.
I was really impressed with his attention to detail and the quality of his work plus he's a friendly chap, give him a call he has a web page with further details on...
Any ideas how to get hold of Mr Scriminger? I am relatively new to here, pretty illiterate on computer front, and my black beastie gsa just getting ready for 30k service, any help appreciated, regards PRB
