A good friend of mine has recently bought a 1999 1100RT and asked me to give him a hand with some maintenance.
He asked me to give him a hand changing the brake fluid. One of the front calipers has got a bleed nipple on it and the
other has what looks like the assembly that is on the end of my clutch bleeding pipe on my 1150R.Someone in the past has
virtually rounded off the grub screw trying to remove it.
Is the grub screw sealed with threadlock? If we remove the whole contraption screwed into the caliper can a normal bleed nipple
be fitted and if so what size is it?

Cheers for any advice,

Adrian

Just remove hall contraption where grab screw screwed in and replace with regular bleed nipple. Then bleed normally, bmw use that thing for filling system up but you need special tool for that .

Its a filling point for the brakes to backflush air from the stupidest design of brake piping in the world!

NOTE Heat the thing well BEFORE you try to unscrew it

It has a goey pink loctite around the threads

Heat a bit and dab with a candle if candle wax melts you should be good to go if wax solidifies heat again

Be careful If you don't heat it enough ? It may damage the threads as you unscrew

Is the size M10 X 1mm

AS far as I remember Yes Standard 10mill brake nut thread
