Got the piston seals from Motobins and am having a little trouble removing the pistons. One has already been damaged on the area that connects with the rear of the pad.
I remember reading somewhere that it shouldn't make any difference but wondered if anyone else was clumsy enough to do it

I've had similar on other bikes and just continued using.
I'm assuming you're referring to the central part? On some bikes they seem quite easy to damage depending on how rough you are.

Are you using the systems's hydraulic pressure to pump them out? That usually avoids any damage.

If you still have the opposite side to do, rebuilding and bleeding the first one will allow you to pressure the system up and pop out the pistons in the opposite caliper without damage.

Forgive me if you already knew that.
