I have just bought a 7300 mile old 1150RT engine/gearbox/electrics/shaft/stands/ off E bay for £200.

Was happy to have it for the throttle bodies (which have the same part number) but I notice that it has twin plugs as opposed to my single (2001 1150GS)

Can I use the engine if I ever need it ? could I just run it on the single plug or is it easy to wire up for twin ?
Any other differences ?

I'm sure the plugs are wired in parallel but someone will confirm that shortly. As long as your CGI can supply the current it should work fine - you'll know if not as it wont start ;).

On the Boxer engines you'll get up to 7% better fuel consumption under dual spark. Great price btw.

thanks

Thats a great help, will see if the guy still has ECU/loom
I notice the plug cap looks like a coil, I guess these must be worth a bit !
I take it that the two plugs don't fire at the same time unlike an old airhead twin plug conversion.
Just took the altenator belt off to take to Norway as spare, how cheap am I !
