1150 ABS front brake clean

Are you actually taking the pistons right out and then bleeding the brakes?

I did, and TBH I had far more difficulty bleeding them than when I fitted the new brake pipes last year, I bled them backwards, forwards and sideways to little avail, eventually tying the lever back to the bars overnight did the trick, I got the pistons out using an airline, cleaned them using an old scotchbrite washing up pad and brake fluid.

I don't remove them, just move them out further than they were in the first place, then clean them with a toothbrush and brake cleaner.

what happened to mine is that a bit of corrossion started to "grow" at the point where the pads contact the caliper, I removed this by scratching away with a small screwdriver. Make sure you put copper grease on this area.

This was not helped by all the road grime that gets stuck to the caliper.
