1150 adv panniers how do they compare?

Hi
Planning a long distance tour through the Americas any experience of using the standard adventure panniers?
How do they hold up to being abused?
Used Touratech last time and they did have a tendency to fly off over rough ground but could be beaten back into shape when flattened
Have had a search through here but can't find much info

Don't forget that you can lock then down onto the mounting frames by using the clamp and knurled nut on the inside of the pannier & top box.

To be honest they are in such pristine condition I don't think I could bear to see them wrecked!!
Have a pair of scratched touratechs in the garage might fit them

That's not much use on very bad roads! they still depart!. Put a strap around pannier and frame and nothing will shift it, that's a proper tie down strap NOT a bungee.

Depends what you term by abuse I guess. I took the standard ADV topbox on a long trip from Ushuaia to Alaksa. The catch to the rack broke first (the alloy catch fractured) and it went down the road like a bouncing bomb, then the lock broke, then one of the hinges. By the end it was just a bungeed box. Trip included lots of rough roading though. What do you mean by 'the Americas'. I had a pair of Verns on too. Those would survive an assault by a small army and I absolutely guarentee they would never ever leave the bike no matter what.

I did Alaska down to equator a couple of years ago including dalton and dempster this time flying bike into Nova Scotia and really see where the road takes me.
Will try to get to Argentina this time and will always take the dirt road over Tarmac any day!

Sounds perfect. Lucky man We did a lot of Ruta 40 down there, very rough at the time but fast being tarmac'd. Enjoy

I've had givi, system panniers TT and now verns worldbeaters. Best panniers imho are the verns. Not quick to remove, but they won't fall off!

The panniers themselves are a work of art and very well thought out
