Hi Guys
Been a while since Ive been on the site but Im thinking of changing the standard pipe on my 1150 and wanted to know what people's recommendations were for replacements.
Also is it worth swapping the Cat for a Remus Y piece and how difficult is it to remove and fit a replacement system.

Cheers

Hi B52,

Very easy to remove/replace the system on an 1150GS/A just 2 clamps on the downpipes, 2 bolts on the CAT, another clamp on the rear silencer and 1 bolt on the silencer that attaches it to the rear subframe...:thumb2

When I first got my GSA i did the standard conversion using a Laser end can and Y-piece. It looked and sounded nice but still caused issues when I fitted my Zega's as they were built for the standard BMW can.

I eventually put the CAT back on and fitted a stubby conical end can straight on to the CAT. I found this one from Remus which looks and sounds great. It's made for a GSX-R 600 and cost £54 delivered from the chaps at Straight line racing. Although that was nearly 3 years ago and the price has probably increased...:thumb2

How to baffle this stubby

I just bought this stubby to put on my 2002 1150GS. I've been running it without the silencer and really like the "perceived" performance , with only a little extra noise and a lotta weight loss, and full size left pannier.

Two questions:
1) Can anyone tell me how I could fabricate a baffle to put in the end to reduce noise a little bit?

2) Can anyone tell me what Steptoe mod they would do for a CAT and stubby?(i.e.- what #'s to plug into?)
Thanks
