1150 gearbox

can anyone tell me what year did the black gearbox get fitted to the gs1150,thanks.

i belive the black engine/gearbox was an option from the launch of the 1150

i think! , the 1150rt or rs had black engines as standard

may a ask why? intrsested that all

just because looking at a number of gs,s some silver some black,same year,mine is black,when i purchased mine 1year ago,it was just fitted with a new gearbox and clutch,the owner told me it was a later box?,the bike has done 81000miles,still going strong.touch wood.

Black transmission was a no cost option from new. I had it on my old GS, much nicer than silver.....in my humble opinion.

As was a sport 6th gear or an overdrive 6th. I had sport and always wished I'd gone for overdrive. Now I have overdrive, wish I had sport.......
