After clobbering a muntjac deer on a dark country road during the week that i didnt see due to the crap standard lights and selling my race exhaust an order has now been duly placed for the lovely light bar and lights

No damage I could find as It hit the right cylinder and my right foot but still enough to make my mind up for me as I never even saw it till it was nearly under the front wheel so gave a quick push on the left bar to try rapid avoiding action which seemed to work. Been wanting some extra lights since I got the 1150 but now purpose has overtaken form and its jumped up the list

On my bike -Switch on left bar - 1150
Switch mounted on small bracket using small allen key bracket under switchgear -
Prob going to move switch to grip or get autoswitch to make it easier to use.

OK I think I could solve the problem of the switch.
But reading the instructions I meet another problem ...
The manual says:
"A RED wire connects to the back of the headlight (mine is blue but that's not a problem)
The single red wire (blue on mine) connects to the cable exiting the back of the headlight assembly. Splice the Red wire (blue again) Into the Green / Blue Red wire from the headlight bulb holder using the piggy back connector Provider (or solder and insulate) this will allow operation of the aux lamps while Dip beam is selected."
My problem is I do not know exactly where the cable Green / Blue and before doing anything I want to see some photographs.
Can anyone help?

Youll need a test light or multimeter, the green wire is the dip beam feed, i soldered into the dip beam feed for a better connection .
Switch the ignition on and check the wires to see which is live when you turn the dip beam on/off use that as the feed * will mean the spots will only work when dip beam is on*
I might run a wire into the headlight flash so everything comes on when i use flash !

sincere apologies.. some old copies of the instalation instructions and wiring diagrams for the previous version of the on/off switch had found their way into my file, i was sure i had destroyed them all
have just gone through my file and pulled the last couple of odd copies of the old information and binned them... this wont happen again
the wire to the headlight is BLUE not red

I'm more concern about where to find the cable exiting the back of the headlight assembly...
May be here ?? a BIG arrow pointing the wire will be great
Thanks for freaking me out by showing me mass electrical wiring when i am a complete amateur at anything mechanical or electrical 
I was assuming that the wire from the rear of the headlight assembly would be found at the rear of the headlight assembly and not in the main wiring loom under the fuel tank

the wire exiting the the back of the headlight can be found...
on the back of the headlight!.. the bulb holder!
then trace it back to a convenient place to make the splice

Sorry, I'm useless and can not find the cable.
The dipped beam connector is a push connector that goes to the left of the headlight assembly (looking from the riders seat) , i have it on a blown up pdf document i downloaded but cant seem to get the picture to save to post on here

sorry you are struggling, just remove the headlight bulb holder from the back of the headlight as if you were changing a headlight bulb, the bulb holder has three wires, earth, Dipped beam, and full beam, you want the wire for the dipped beam, you can follow the wires back to the correct connector in the photo you have shown

It's just... the last time i remove the tank of my bike I had to take it to the workshop because it was not working properly at startup.
So before doing anything I want to be quite sure what I will do to avoid mistakes and the embarrassment
so I want to see pictures of the connections, to not screw it.
