1150 GS Adventure screen or not.

Hi
Can anyone advise me as to whether an Adventure screen is very much better than my standard GS screen. or maybe Power bronze aftermarket screen.

There is no answer to this. What suits one will not suit another.

Best thing to do is to borrow other screens until you find what you want. Then you will have saved yourself money

I have 2 different ones that you can borrow if you want:
MRA Vario and Techknik (or something like that).
I am in Sidcup and work in London if that helps.

I guess wind noise is just a small price to pay for the riding poition, otherwise i love my bike. iv recently changed my helmet to an Arai x4, really comfortable but a bit noisier than my old one, thats why im wondering about the screen. will call you up if im up youre way.

I don't think its just the screen that makes a difference. I have a Calsci screen which is massive and I was still suffering buffeting. I take it its the buffeting that you are trying to get rid of. Anyway I fitted winglets and that made a massive improvement. I have recently gone over to a Shoei DS and that seems a step back. The peak seems to resonate. But its bearable.

Also very easy to make your own - buy a sheet of 3mm lexan off ebay, cut out shape with a dremel and shape (gently!) with a hot air stripper - fraction of the cost

Buffetting has nothing to do with screen size.......in fact, very often, increasing screen size INCREASES buffetting.

It's all to do with air flow and micro vortexes.

There are several good threads on it here, with pics and explanations.

The x4 needs modding to stop some of the noise. Basically the peak flaps around (ignore the arai marketing bollock about aerodynamics etc).

Try stickng dynamat undr the peak.

Tobinators and standard screen is very good, or adv screen with tt windspoiler doobery for me

try lowering the standard screen first, mine buffets my head on all but the lowest setting and I find it fine with no problem at all, just a thought if you havnt tried this already.

Using an aftermarket 2 peice screen at the moment but not that impressed, i have got tobinators though so will what you suggest.
