1150 GS Adventure SE Rebuild

Just got to recheck valve clearances and end float on the lh head, tighten up the exhaust clamps, fit the silencer and pop some fuel in. Then get it down to the MoT testers. I might even get a ride in next week.

were did you get the head light cover from

It's South African, from a company called Motorradical I think they are called

About £80 shipped

Far better than anything to come out of Germany

Strong, simple yet very effective

Removed in 20 seconds for cleaning whilst clamps stay on bike

There it is,outside, running, no fluids pouring out of it and reasonably quiet as well!

I have some kayaks coming from Cape Town early October, leaving on the 10th, if anyone else wants one of these - I have asked if they would ship a box load to CT to bung in our container. makes it all much more economical . People would have ot sort divving up over here, but the overseas carriage would be removed. I am going to get one for my bike, and if anyone wants to piggyback onto my order they are welcome to. (Within reason!!)

Looking wicked - congrats! I am the other side of Banbury if you ever fancy hooking up for a rideout.

I try to do a couple of hundred miles every weekend so am always about ;)

Cheers fellas, I'll drop you a pm John. Still got quite a lot to do to the old girl yet, and very little time just now but the target is a trip down to Cornwall at the end of October. Jobs still to do include:

Clean up the wheels
Replace brake pads
Balance TBs
Fit muffs
Fit light bar and lights
At some point change out the FD
Get the tank and beak painted
Replace front suspension

That'll keep me busy for a while yet!

Well done Nin. A lot of planning, time, skill and effort (along with a few ££££s) needed to produce such a superb job. Now you know every detail of the bike and can really enjoy riding it :thumby:

A milestone - she runs! Now back to work...

Well done Nin, you must be very pleased with the final result.

If you are going via the A303 to Cornwall and want a break for cuppa just say the word.

Plenty of room for another 1150 SE on the driveway.:D
