1150 GS Adventure SE Rebuild

That's a really lovely job you've done there fella. I hope you site back and look at it with pride!

Cheers fellas. It doesn't feel finished yet but close enough for an inaugural ride round the estate.

Housing estate that is, not the country estate. I had to sell that to pay for all the parts.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, and for following this slightly disjointed story. Thanks also to all the great folk on this site who sorted out parts, gave advice or encouragement, or just read the blog. Nearly 250 pages and over 20k hits is pretty good in my book, and not something I ever set out to achieve .

Building this bike is something I've wanted to do for a long time but never really had the time, space or money to do it. As CT says, sitting back with pride is very much on the cards now! I'll be taking it over to Amsterdam to see a mate, down to Cornwall with family, a 50th birthday Top Gear run to John O'Groats in the spring and hopefully an Artic Circle ride later in 2017.

But just in case anyone out there thinks this is a cheap way to get a good bike, please do think again. But it is a great way to get a great bike. Thanks again all.

Nin

Finishing off today - TBs balanced, GS John chip fitted, starter motor refurbed, Verns world beaters go on and so do the muffs. NOW she's finished.

Well, apart for the Tunneruk paint job.

I had a chat with John and he sent me no10. I've got standard air filter, y piece and standard silencer. It works well with that setup, smoother at pick up and plenty of tourque which suits my lazy riding style.

WELL DONE!!! that looks fantastic. I enjoyed following this rebuild. Now get out and ride it:)

John is a Greek and he has a thread in this section. You can't miss the thread it's about thirty pages long at this point and should be just a few threads below this one!

120 miles in the rain today, top end is beginning to settle down - had to rebalance the TBs again and suspect the valves will need fine adjust as well.

Nice to be back on the saddle again.
