Starter Relay
The big yellow one on the fuse box.
The neutral switch is working, you get neutral light
The side stand switch switches the earth for the motronic relay.
Side stand up the earth comes direct from bike earth.
Side stand down the earth comes via the neutral switch.
Test
Ignition on
Kill switch off ( ready to start )
Bike in gear.
Side stand up
Does the moronic relay pull in ( fuel pump primes )
Side stand down
Bike in neutral
Does the moronic relay pull in ( fuel pump primes )
If this test works then the side stand switch is doing what it should, controlling the motronic.
You could have wiring fault. The starter relay has two paths for the earth to pull in the relay
1. Via clutch switch and seperate earth ( that path OK)
2. Via a diode inside the relay to the neutral switch earth.
Pull the relay, and check the base has 5 contacts showing. They should all be locked firmly into the plastic base. Check through a continuity test that socket 5 on the relay base which corresponds to where the relay blade 86b would connect is at earth potential when the bike is in neutral. If it isn't you have a wiring fault. If it is your relay is faulty.
