A friend of ours husband died recently and his wife would like to sell his bike
It's an 1150 GS. Blue and white
It has 35k on the clock and is in very good condition
It has crash bars and Ohlins shocks
Service history looks good but I have not studied it in detail
side pannier. It's on Charge and fires up and runs like a good un
The V5 is in his name
It's on a Y plate He is the 3rd owner o
I am looking for some advice on what it may be worth and the best way to sell it

On here .. E Bay ... Dealer.. Auto trader ...
Would it be better to wait for spring?

What is the situation regarding the V5 ... Would it make things easier if she had it changed to her name

Will be going to collect it soon and sell from my address

I think it may be a GSA

You can use the advanced search feature on e-bay, far right side of the search bar. You can select sold listings and it will tell you what it actually went for.

Just bear in mind if it's a auction it will incur additional charges, but a normal classified advert does not attract additional charges iirc.

I'm not 100% sure, but think you can sell with the deceased estate executer permission? Perhaps a letter showing authority to sell. Make sure the family are 100% happy with any figure that is being asked for it, so it doesn't back fire.

Not the ideal time to sell, but if it gets the money into the estate sooner rather than later may be the best option.

I have tried moving it to 1150 "..............

I have moved it for you and took the liberty of amending the thread title somewhat.

If you can get more details and a few pictures the lads here should give you a pretty accurate valuation. You may well even get a buyer here too.

I suggest starting by taking a lot of pictures. Describing the high points and the low points. Then get to disclose the year and model too. The bike will be worth what people are willing to pay. More in the Spring and Summer. Less in Winter.

Be aware that if you put it on ebay as a classified ad with the option to 'make an offer' and subsequently accept an offer, then ebay will want 10% of the sale price plus the advert listing fee.
If you accept an offer and then incur the 10% fee you can soon be hundreds of pounds away from the figure you had originally asked.

Thanks for that .... Most helpful

GSA colours were black and silver, I have the feeling the blue/white and red/white might have been limited edition

Blue and white was the "Wiliams" edition available in 2002

As far as I know, the only other white & blue GS was the 2005/2006 1150 GSA SE that was commemorating the 25 years of GS. Only available as an Adventure model. 300 units worldwide were made.
