The question:
-------------
Has anyone 1150 GS without ABS and could measure the brake line for me and maybe even send pictures how the line is routed?

The background (for those who have patience to read):
------------------------------------------------------

My bike is bit of mixed breed. It is 94' 1100 GS with forks from 1150 GS (this is doings of some previous owner and I don't know the reason, maybe crash maybe something else).

It had original brake lines from 1100 GS and as you know they route differently than in 1150 GS and because of that they didn't fit very well. Lines weren't in that great condition either, so I decided to replace them with braided steel lines.

I ordered 3 piece set for 1150 gs without ABS and even specified 3 cm extra for the longest line coming from handlebar to distribution block at right side of front fender so that I could install handlebar raiser blocks (2,5 cm) easily.

When I tried to installed the raisers I noticed that the line is actually quite short even without raisers and binds to the tank if handlebars are turned too much right with front suspension fully extended.

Now I wonder what the correct length should be?

From http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/fiche.asp I interpreted that up to 11/2001 without ABS it should be 865 mm. All my friends with 1150 GS have ABS and routing is different in that case because the ABS modulator goes in middle of that line (= there are two shorter lines instead of one longer).

The flexi pipe from the master cylinder to the T piece, on the Right hand fork leg is 680mm and the flexi is 180mm from the T piece to the Right hand caliper. The left hand flexi is 180mm from the steel cross pipe joint down to the left hand caliper.

Damn you are fast :D

Is the flexi pipe routed from front side and between the fork legs or straight down at right side of right leg?

BTW, did measure only the flexible part or did you include the banjos/connectors?

The hose I have is around 640 mm long (banjos/connectors included) and it is supposed to be 30 mm longer than normal so it seems that I got too short hose. The short hoses are around 18 cm like in your bike too.

The flexi goes straight down the right leg to the T piece then there is a steel pipe that crosses the yoke into the Lefthand flexi. The measurements are with fittings. will get some photos tomorrow.

Have you had time to do any photographing or just all the time intense driving? ;)

Sorry been busy playing, will get some tonight. Trouble is I cannot attach photos on the forum yet. Send me a PM with you E-mail address and I can send them to you that way. Is there a BMW breakers list on some were on the forum I need the exhaust clamp/finisher for the silencer. :blast
