Seriously considering that it’s time to look for something a bit lighter.
I’ve had a few close stationary near drops lately and have struggled to keep the bike up right, even struggling to push the bike any small distance now, I know it’s a combination of age and my deteriorating health so it maybe time to look for something a bit lighter I think.

I don’t really want to spend any extra and my GSA is in pretty good condition with less than 40,000 miles on her. I’m thinking about something like a 800 GS/GSA and would welcome opinions on how much lighter this would be or other options? Thanks 👍🏻

only a matter of time for me too Howard. The GS is getting heavier to move about these days 😞

Never tried a GS/GSA 850 but will be lighter. Less home spanner friendly perhaps.

The RE Himalayan 450 is getting great reviews and there is due to be a 650/750 soon which should be more akin to GSA 1150 tech but much lighter.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

I would check the weight of the Himmi, they are very heavy for a small capacity bike, well over 200kg i believe.... coming from someone in the same boat and looking for a lighter bike... it appears modern bikes carry a lot of weight in the extra tech they have .. even mid weight bikes are over 220kg..
