Hi Chaps,

Just planning my first decent European tour on the 1150 GSA and wondering if it is posible to use the electric socket by the beak to run the Iphone cigarete charger to the phone (which will be in the tank bag)

Will this work without damage to the phone or is there a much better way?

What do you suggest?

Cheers

Used that system for charging things before, just need to consider what you need to do if it rains, which might just be to no charge the phone.

Oy, this isn't the flipping WC section you know, even my 3 legged dig knew that :thumb

If can get yourself a waterproof USB for your bike. this will mean you can charge your camera, and your Iphone with a USB lead which is much smaller than a cigarette lighter adapter (which wont fit the BMW aux power socket anyway).
Most things come with usb connections now so it will be very handy for all sorts of things (though not sure about 3 legged digs!) Dave.

i just run an extension lead from the beak socket to inside my tank bag. just goes through a tiny gap left by not closing the zip quite all the way.

charger/phone are kept inside the tank bag, out of the elements.

someone brainwashed by advertising would probably add "simples" here, but not me. oh no, no :)

+1. This is what I did. Mounted the USB via two short screws just below the RID. Works a treat.

Ultimate AdOns do a cracking kit with a holder, RAM mount and hard wire kit. Used that setup on several bikes.

Best found on Amazon.
