Hi,

I've just bought an MRA screen from Jaws for my 1150 GSA. I have searched for a post which might have the p/n for the parts I need for the standard screen and cannot find it.

Can anyone tell me the p/n required? Or paste a link to a post with the p/n?

Thanks

Tom

Hey Tom, was just reading to see if i can help at all but to be honest having read it three times im still not certain what you are after?

You say you bought an MRA screen but then ask for the part number for the standard screen?

Can you clarify what you need for us lot to help you out?

Cheers, Baz

Hi Baz,

I'm sorry for the lack of clarity and unfortunately I cannot even blame the booze :-(

What I have been told that as my bike is a GSA to fit the MRA screen I need the standard GS fixing kit? What I was hoping for was the part numbers involved so I could phone BVM Moto and order tomorrow.

Thanks for your help.

Tom

Cheers Tom;

As for the MRA screen requiring GS brackets, i'll take your word for it but motorworks have all the parts you require to build the complete brackets you are after and it looks like the complete pair could cost you about £40 quid doing it this way

http://www.motorworks.co.uk/bmw/pro...BA_15_30_TA_10&shnew=New&model=R850/1100/1150 &Cruiser_(8_valve)=&shnewcode=15&part=Screens and parts&sub_part=Screens and fittings R1150GS&modelcode=30&partcode=TA&source_code=BA_15_30_TA_10&header_text=&header_text_image=0&spPage=1

There could be another option... Do you have your original GSA screen and brackets up for grabs? :augie If so.... I'm sure we could come to some kind of agreement ad I still have the standard GS screen and brackets!

FYI that link split in two and I dont know why? Paste the complete string into your browser... (but preferably sell me your GSA screen and brackets :D )

Hi Baz,

The swap sounds good - however my screen is quite scratched which is one of the reasons I want to change it. Buffeting is the other which stops when I duck down a couple of inches.

Do you have a MRA screen that you have fitted without the Standard brackets to a GSA?

I only say I need the brackets as that is what Jaws has told me.

Regards

Tom

Hi Tom,

I have a standard GS with standard GS screen and brackets...

You need my brackets right?

How about I send you my brackets and you send me the GSA brackets and badly scratched screen? I will replace the scratched GSA screen once chrimbo funds settle down...

I'll have a scout round to see what I can find out about the MRA screen and brackets right now.

Baz

Hey Tom,

I dont know if this help but I just took this pics of my brackets;

Hi Baz,

Yes your brackets are very different to the ones on the GSA. I have no adjustment at all in mine for a start like you have - the adjustment is in the fact the screen hole is oversize for the bolt and if you loosen off you can move the position of the screen slightly.

I have been to BVM Moto and ordered the parts and got them substantially cheaper than the prices on the Motorworks web site - total cost for all the parts was about £15 which I don't mind paying.

I will fit the screen and once I have done that I'll let you know and if you still want the GSA screen you would be more than welcome to it.

Regards

Tom

Cheers Tom... DAMN good find huh... BVM??? Will look into them...

Was it complete new GS style brackets you had to order for the job or some kind of adapters?

Would love to see pics of the new screen fitted?

All I managed to find was that when fitting a Vario screen to a GSA you need the standard GS brackets but couldnt find any details of the MRA one?

As for your GSA screen would love it mate! PM me a paypal address so I can send you some cash mate ;) If you have used the GSA brackets then dont worry :thumb

Cheers, Baz

Hi Baz,

if you try this http://www.jaws-motorcycles.co.uk/bmwgs.htm#screens address it shows you the screens on the bike.

I had to order essentially the standard GS brackets - what you posted in your picture. The replace my GSA brackets.

What I'll do - if you PM me your address I'll send you the screen when I'm done with the brackets and you can send me what you think its worth to you plus the postage and I will be happy at that if that is ok. TBH I'm not expecting a lot as it is badly scratched.

I'll post some pics when I have it done. I had a missed parcel yesterday and I was hoping that it was the screen - it turned out to be my ipod......
