Just done a search to try & find out about a magnetic gearbox plug for my 2003 1150adv which doesn't seem to have one, only to find mention of a third plug underneath that is magnetic, though its not clear if this is the case.
Does anyone know about the existence of said plug ?, don't really want to undo a bolt that fastens something on the inside :blast

The reason for asking is, if there is one it's always nice to see what the gearbox is shedding, on older stuff it can often be a indicator of condition or impending doom! If there isn't one I'll fit one. There is a big darker coloured plug underneath the normal drain plug, anyone know what it is?

Thanks Global Rider. For anyone interested to know if there are small metal particles or gert big bits o gear teeth  in the bottom of their gearbox, there is a big 14mm magnetic hex plug underneath the normal drain plug. According to ADVrider it can't be got at with the cat on & should be torqued to 55Nm :thumb
