1150 RID knackered

I think my rid has has it. Sometimes it is ok and then all of a sudden I lose the bottom third of the display.
This can be either with the bike on or off engine running or not..
When switched off some of the fuel and temp bars show feint filling.

Over the winter I will try and clean the plug up under the tank.
Anyone with experience got any suggestions.
Do rids off of any other bike fit the gs as I will be looking for a used item?

I think the early 1150's had similar issues.

Seems a tad expesnive for a used part.

Might be worth seeing if Steptoe has one.

Ah - not that then.

I ask because there have been reports of HID ballasts interfering with the RID (depending on where they're mounted).

I think you'll find they're all the same, so an RID off any model will fit.

Before getting another one, I believe I read somewhere you can open the sealed unit and have a peek inside to try to rectify the fault. certainly worth it as a last attempt. Bad soldered connection on a PCB would give this type of fault.
