1150 rockster special

In time I think they will, if you can find a nice one buy it.I regret selling my anniversary white and black one lovely bike :thumb

If you want an olihead that will appreciate it has to be the 1150GSA......even though the 1100 is better of course

is it a future classic??

No.

They'll get to the stage where they are picked up as cheap donor bikes to keep our GSs on the road, or as cheap hacks/reliable winter bikes.

I had one as a loaner a couple of times and they were just 'OK' bikes....nothing special about them, not top or even high up in any particular niche and certainly not one I could ever imagine myself looking over my shoulder at with that inner smile like I always do with my GSA

Sorry :comfort
(I'm guessing you've got one?)

The anniversary rockster is quite a rare bike on its own, only 2003 made with only about 80 coming to the UK.

Well if Austin Allegros and Morris Marinas can achieve classic status, yes.

I think most oilhead 11xx will eventually become classics. I like to think one of mine is almost there already :thumb

I agree with others. I think the bikes with appreciating value will be the 1150GSA and the other 'classics' will be the Boxer Cup 1100S models. I think the R models (including Rocksters) are actually some of the bargains in the bunch - I've seen some ludicrously low prices for really well looked after versions. If I hadn't already bought an 1100S I'd have a Rockster at the current going rates.

I reckon the White 1150GSA SE will be the Daddy, together with the BoxerCups, earlier ones more so

All the others will be second rate:blast........to those 2 Oilheads

Agreed.
A lot of bike for the price (especially stuff you find around the 2500 quid mark).

And it does exactly everything 95% of the GS owners will do with their GSs. Namely: commuting, loading it with panniers and crap, long distance travelling, weekend trip, the odd trackday, gravel roads (in case you have to) :D

Probably the anniversary Rockster will keep some value.

Sorry to break the news to BCR and Mamola owners (I own a BCR)... those will keep a slightly higher value, but if you want a "classic" you'd better shell out some money for an HP2S
:aidan

Possible Classic of the future

R1200s I think will be a future classic

certainly hope so bought a white and black 80 anniversary minter with 9k on the clock,, great bike to ride absolutely luv it :thumb2 though the riding position on long runs can be a bit of a pain ,, or am i just getting old

hough the riding position on long runs can be a bit of a pain ,, or am i just getting old

The seat on the Rockster is slightly higher. And the handlebars wider and lower.
I had the rockster handlebar on my R1150R, but R1150R standard seat. The position is pretty comfortable to be honest.

We are all getting old.

I used to find my Boxercup pretty comfortable... and travelled long distance (solo and 2 up to France and Italy) with it... I think the GS is more comfortable for that now :aidan :D

And gs bikes are upgraded (in name) so they are 3 a penny whilst BM 1150 Rockster will always be the same .

I think the BoxerCups will always command a premium - but there are some crazy prices in the showrooms.

The R1200s - Sure, I think they will level off between £4-£4,500.

HP2 Sport - I think this one will be the true collectable, but hard to say on price?

The Rockster? Not sure..........
