1150 to 1200

Just re-introducing myself - been off the bike for a year due to various work/family committments.

I have had an 1100 previosly and an 1150 for the last 3 years- wondered how many of the members have gone the way of a 1200 from 1150 and any thoughts comparisons?

I will book a test ride but never really get the full picture from an hour or so.

Previously most of my riding has been two up - touring abroad or long weekends in the UK.

Now although I still want to tour most of my riding will probably be solo half days etc.

Did anybody cure the screen turbulence? - tried 3 different screens myself but never really solved thi issue - has it been fixed with the 1200?

Anyway - hello again - is JonnyBoxer still about - doesn't seem much local rideout action in Yorks section at the moment.

Now on a 2005 Adv or Dakar

As for the swap, do a search and sit back for hours on the myriad of opinions on 1150>1200 and from 1200 back to a 1150 (which quite a few have done, suprisingly or not)

Personally I've stuck with the 1150 lineage, after 2 opportunities to buy a 1200 in 2004 and 2005.

Went for the adventure did you - no doubt you managed to get em to fit your super ohlins and that comfy seat!

Still - I would never reach the ground on one of those - I will do a search as you suggest re 1150 - 1200 (Is the 1200 not the unqualified improvement as I thought I wonder?)

I'll PM re rideout whenever I can get sorted

Or ask the people who bought a 1200 and went back to an 1150 (like Legger @ Ripon) or follow joe's thread, before the latest Jefferies saga, as to why he's gone onto an Adv (plus the chap who previously owned Joe's 1200, was going back to an Adv - must have been that particular 1200)

To some, the 1200 is a quantum leap forwards and to others it's quantum leap backwards.....................depends on your viewpoint and what suits you
