As some of you may have read in an earlier thread, my girlfriend and I plan to do a trip round Patagonia. Since then I have been agonising over what model of GS to buy: too many options and considerations for me. Either way I've ended up with a likely 1150 purchase coming up (it was most likely going to be an 110 or 1150).
So now, I'd appreciate any pointers on tyre choice. By this I mean for road riding in Europe as well as good choices for slightly tougher terrain in Argentina.
As I'm going to need to get used to the bike first, my confidence always requires the stickiest tures to start with and then I can go to longer lasting rubber later.
So far I have been told that the BT 020 is good sticky tyre, whilst the tourance is better for distance.
Any other options?
Does the tourance ahve any potential on dirt and are there any Pirellis to consider?
