I've not really bonded with my 1150. My first impression was that it was very heavy and I thought I would get used to it, but I'haven't.

I test road the 1200 before I bought the 1150 (18 months ago). I liked the 1200 but the delivery quoted was 5 months and at the time I couldn't justify 14000 euros plus on a bike so I bought a 2002 1150. I also have a R100GS which I've had for 15 years - so I think I like it. I am selling the 1150 and have just bought a Sherco 450 enduro bike for the winter (extreme mid-life crisis thing but it's only for a few months).

I'm thinking of ordering a 1200 for next spring, but what I would like to know from those that have made the move is:
1. Is the seat better? I can only manage about a 100 miles on the 1150 - I know there are aftermarket solutions to this problem.
2. Is the screen better? I fitted the adventure screen which is a little better but I still find the wind blast tiring on a long trip. Again I know there are improvements that could be made.
3. Have most of the teething problems with the 1200 been sorted now?

The other things that annoy me with the 1150 that I already know are better on the 1200 are (as mentioned above) the weight and also the gearchange. The gearchange on older BMs is as bad if not worst but it somehow fits in better with the character of the bike.

By the way, I wasn't expecting much of the 1150 off-road but the one good thing about trying to ride it off road is that when you get back on even a heavy off roader it feels like a feather.

Thanks in advance for any views on this.
