I have the the large size Zegas fitted to my 1150 that were designed to be used with a Remus end can. However, the kin awful box shaped extension that Touratat supplied has been a thorn in my side ever since I tried to fit it. The first problem that some of you may not have been aware of was that Remus changed the shape of the end cap on the 1150 Revolution Can. It was originally quite short but I think because there were some issues of burnt standard panniers they made the endcap longer. The problem with this was that Touratat did not modify their horrible box section that they supplied with their Remus fit Zegas leading to a P..s poor fit that looked horrible.
The problem was I did not want a great long tube on the end of an allready long Remus as I have seen on a few other bikes. Well after some modification and experimentation this is my final design. To allow clearance from the pannier frames I have shortened a Remus end can by a few inches. This was done by drilling out the old rivets in the end cap, cutting the can and perforated baffle tube, re packing the can and re rivetting the end cap. Voila a Stubby Remus Revoulution! Next job was to cut and shape an appropriate steel tube to replace the original end baffle and direct the gases down and away from the bike. This was then sprayed with heat resistant paint in mat black to try and disguise it. End result a stubby 'factory' look end can with no sticking out bits at the back of the bike
Sounds the same as the standard Remus
and has the original markings
Original orrible Remus / Touratat extension
New Stubby Remus AKA 'Droopy Dick'
