Does anyone know of grab rails that fit to the side of the pillion seat, similar to those on the 1200 adventure?
Some of my riding will be with Swmbo on the back, however she really does'nt like the rear grab rail and would prefer side mounted ones similar to the VFR vtec?
We have tried the pillion pal belt with the handles, and she was'nt happy with that either:rolleyes:

Thanks:beerjug:

im looking for much the same thing but mine is a 1100 gs so ill be keeping an eye on this did think about putting something on my boxes but think on the bike will be better

Yoy may be interested to look at the Caja Sahel luggage site, their boxes have handles mounted on them as standard:) . I emailed them and they were very helpful, but indicated that mounting handles anywhere else but on the boxes may be problematic.

Did you get an answer to this? I tested a 01 R1150GS today. Loved the experience but my missus on the back wasn't so convinced without some grabrails on the side of the bike. The 1200gs has then... I'm surprised more of you 1150gsers don't find this annoying.

Probably won't go for the 1150 without finding an adequate solution

On my 1150 GSA I moved my top box over the passenger seat using the grab rail as the rear mounting point. The front mounting I fabricated and fitted them to the front pannier rail mounting points. I don't see why this could not be adapted to be a grab rail for passengers. I will try and get some photos if needed.

Would be pretty simple to get some flat end pipework bent up to fit on the pannier mount points - or even cut from sheet metal. Either both ends on the pannier mounts, or one on the rear and other end mounting to the existing rail points, depending on where you wanted it.

I did, the gentleman I spoke to was extremely helpful. He thought his engineer would have no problem adapting their own rack to include a handle on each side, this may or may not be removable.
