Hi all.
I’ve currently got the opportunity to buy a 2000 reg. 1150 GS.
It's in silver, with standard BMW panniers. (No other luggage)
Done around 30000 miles.
In pretty much standard condition, been well looked after, serviced regularly, and available for £2800
Is that a sensible/reasonable price to start negotiating, or should I just grab it!
Cheers.

Seems sensibly priced if the codition is reasonable.

I've had 2 older 1150's and neither let me down, simple over engineered bikes made before the bean counters got involved.

I've got a silver 2000 1150 and love it - i'd say that's a good price.

You're frae Embra man! Haggle!

I saw that one when browsing Autotrader, thought it seemed a good price considering its a dealer. Pictures can be deceptive though, and given your description I think there are better out there (some real OCD freaks own BMW's).

RBW.

No, it's not one from a dealer.
I've made the owner an offer, so will just need to wait and see what the response is.

Offer was accepted...............
Now I need to move it from Warwick to Edinburgh.
Option 1 is train down and ride back.
Option 2 is to get it transported.
I'd prefer option 1, but option 2 might be simpler to organise!
I'll get a couple of quotes. Any recommended motorcycle moving companies?

Now mine. :)
400 mile test drive went fine on Saturday.
Came with a HID light, Odyssey battery, carbon hugger, system panniers, and what appears to be a taller (Wunderlich) screen.
A few odd jobs to do to it. First one will be a throttle body sync, as there was noticable vibration when approaching 4000 rpm.

If you're doing a throttle body sync, you would do well to do valve clearances first, followed by rocker end float, and finishing with the throttle sync. It's sort of a horse and cart thing. Bike looks really good, I think you've got a bargain.

You've got a great bike there mate, at a great price (guessing < £2,800 )....

I have owned more bikes than I can remember....so so many, from every manufacturer under the sun, and the BMW R1150GS was the best one that I ever owned....(it's the last of the high quality BMW's ...IMHO )

Enjoy Sir.....:thumb2

Very nice but do the right thing by the bike.......... paint it Mandarin Yellow
