Is it possible to fit the BMW stamped calliped with the earlier Brembo one?

Why
Because I have an early 1150 with Brembo and 305mm discs and I bought late alloys with the 320mm disc, I could fit early discs, but one of the disc bolt heads has been botched up and will be a challenge to remove.
and maybe the later calliper will just have a bit more bite than the early ones

TIA

AFAIK the spacing on the mounting points on the forks legs will be the problem, not the actual callipers themselves. The 320mm discs were fitted to the rockster and 1100S and possibly others. The GS range always had the smaller discs. I think?

IMHO, sell the discs and buy the right ones rather than dicking about with changing callipers.

I could be talking utter bollox of course:)

Colin,

The calipers aren't interchangeable. As DrAlf says, they mounting holes are spaced differently. It shoudn't be a problem, though... Have you tried fitting the wheel/discs to the bike? There's quite a lot of models using the same calipers & fork lowers, so they accept the different sized discs quite readily. I've got an R1100R front wheel fitted, with fully floating K1100**/R1100** discs & they work perfectly.

HTH,
