1150GS failure

My 1150GS has suffered a mechanical failure after only 5 yrs and 3mths.

RegrettablyI'll be unable to ride out his weekend:tears

The speedo cable failed after I tried to move it in my warehouse without the simple precaution of removing the disc lock. Yehbut I was only pushing it, the engine wasnae even running.

All was fine until I subsequently exceeded an indicated 80MPH on the motorway and then 0 mph.:(

At least I'll be home on V day, every cloud has a silver lining.
 
1150 gsa speedo

hiya there, i have had the same thing happen on my 2005 bike, speedo gearbox failer at 100 m.p.h , cost of a replacement was £35, not that expencive i thought . rob

surely you don't ride quick enough to worry about a speedo cable.....:P
 
mines just as unreliable, got back from the black sea ,and found my rear light faulty,




it was an aftermarket part that failed though,
3 feckin years iv had this bike, cost me £4.50 to repair,
thats a lot for a yorkshireman
