Sweet tap dancing Christ somebody please help me.

I've just bought an 1150 gs after a bit of time out of biking and discovered an anomilie. The front wheel is from a K100..
It's a 100/90/18 (56H) rather than a 110/80/R19 (59H or V).

The guy I bought it from says it's ok; the tyre dealer that I spoke to (because rear on legal min.) says it might not be.

Plenty of posts exist about spec'ing up to 21 but what about spec'ing down (?) to 18?

Is this dangerous?

- I'm new to forums!

I'd doubt it's dangerous but I'd be looking to get the correct one if I were you, they do come up for sale although not cheap.....hence the 18" one I guess.

A smaller diameter wheel will turn faster but it will also depend on the height of the tyre. If you fit a tyre with a tall profile to a 18" wheel and a lower profile tyre to a 19" wheel the overall rolling diameter could be very close to each other.
Having the 18 wheel will restrict your choice of tyre but it will depend on what type of tyre you want to fit.

Before I become a pain; any advice on road biased tyres? Black top only; mainly this country - eventually mainland Europe.
