Fuckinell; sorry to hear that; that's not the kind of drop off system you need; we hung around and Rick went back for a quick look; that corner as an absolute bastard even in the dry;; glad to hear your ok and all the best.just got back... no idea where the fuck I ended up....
it all went abit tits up on `Mortimer Lane on that 180 degree switch back... it's a 1 in 1 on the inside line and slippery as *Uck... took that much wider and managed to come abit unstuck did a really cool wheel spin.... while sliding backwards.... then obviously a not very technical dismount.... not a crash more a whoopsie and the old cow not sastified with needing a touch of tarmac... the bastard then slid down took me out so I'm sitting on top of 20 year old beauty sliding it down the road towards some poor unsuspecting old boy in car...
slid about 15m... stopped had a bit of moment shouting *uckit...!
took a moment to workout how best to pick it up it being so slippery... the old boy was keen to help, but i had to make sure he didn't become my next victim... cos he was on the down hill side... so had I lifted the bike it could have fallen on him..
he told me if he had a pound for every bike he's seen on it side he'd have a stack on money... got the bike safe thanked chummie... checked the road was clear for him to pass...
then I thought use the alternative location at which poin the satnav had a moment and sent me down some tiny little lane... that took me past underhill reservoir into another tiny lane... so narrow it was more like a foot path... and finally I ended up near junction 36 on the M1... all that took ages... then heading back to junction 28 for Matlock the weather was shit...
I thought bollocks to this... turned south and the sunshine was constant till I got home...
funny really I rode up in horrible weather, sub 10m visibility in places, loads of "icehole" drivers about got stuck in a traffic pile up delayed finally made goodtime... not a bad out when you can climb on a 20 year old beauty... and have a laugh...
biggest injury was my kitkat got well fucked....!

all fine wasn't much of a crash just a squirmy not very technical dismount...Nightmare / Redrick came back looking for you after we stopped to wait - could not find you - so thought you had peeled off to go home.
Hope you are ok!
Well thank fukk for that! I've just this minute been in touch again with the Janitor expressing my concern for your disappearance and was then about to jump in my van and drive from home up and across Mortimer Road(Strines) as I wouldn't have been able to sleep. Thank fukk you're ok. From that steephill we rode about a mile further on and at a left branch to Langsett Reservoir Redrick dropped off and waited for you. Eventually with no show Rick went back some way but with no sign of you, we came to the conclusion that after such a torrid time getting up here and your impending busy day tomorrow, you decided to turn back and head home!View attachment 329649
poor kitty.... well flat...!
I'd pay good money to see that...However, on the up side, you're safe and home but the main thing is I don't have to fekkin drive over the moors late at night stopping every half mile shouting into the wilderness " HELLO LOIQ, ARE YOU OUT THERE...HELLOOOOOO!

Glad you are ok. We hung back for you and Rick went back to look for you.View attachment 329649

I'm just devastated that we didn't get chance to take photosI'd pay good money to see that...
when the rear wheel lit up and it all went into slowmo... I did think fuck it I'm gonna throw the bitch in the ditch....

will have a look doesn't look bad lucky I put the panniers on... and unlucky they reduced the contact patch.... so the fecker slid like a luge...Glad you are ok. We hung back for you and Rick went back to look for you.

I agree Tim,Soooo, all's well that ends well eh. After a bright start, by midday at the Yondermann the light rain had crept in.....and got heavier until finally easing off enough by 2 o'clock and much getting to know you bollox for us to ride off into the sunse...sorry, dark drizzle. Down to Bradwell, Bamford, Ladybower, Strines, Langsett, Holmfirth, Holme Moss and Glossop. Snake Pass in the distance was shrouded in heavy cloud and rain so we said fekk it, abandoned the idea of Matlock Bath as by this time it was 4.30+ and headed down to Chinley where Twizzle was staying for the night.
Attendees while it's fresh in my memory, were Twizzle who rode up from Portsmouth this morning, Jefforstom who rode down from Newcastle this morning too, Carefulkev over from the Midlands/Shropshire way, Snelly from Dronfield, me from Sheffield, Doc Slawit, Redrick the Badlands, and Loiq down Twizzle's neck of the woods. Respect for those who travelled so far for a pot of tea .
A good Summers day despite the fekkin rain.Cheers all.
