I have the OEM crud catcher, but I'm probably going through winter on the GS and wondering if anything is better, or is it preferable to stay stock? cheers.

ps. No carbon-effect if possible, I don't like that stuff at all :augie

I've a pyramid hugger on my 1100. Fitted it at the same time I changed over to Wilbers Shocks... its done exactly what I expected and protected the shock completely. Shortly after this photo was taken i removed the original rear mud-guard completely. pointless thing that it was.

Exactly the same here.

Fitted a Pyramid hugger the day I picked the bike up new in 2003 and removed the rear fender thingy & covered the mounting with the BMW cover. Hugger does a decent job of protecting the shock etc and is removed in a couple of minutes for access.

As the others I had the Pyramid hugger fitted till earlier this year when I changed the tyres over to TK80's, when the rear wheel wouldn't fit with the hugger in place. So at the moment the hugger's off.
