As it now looks like my 1100 is sold its time to start the diggin for my 1150.

Having flicked through some 1150 adds i see various comments like Black engines etc . It would also appear that although the 1150 does not appeared to have changed since its initial release there have been some general improvements made ie ABS.

It also looks like the colours , although limited, are only available in certain years ......is this correct?

Can anyone point me in the general direction of a website that will list all the model differences and colour changes with the year that they occured?

This information will help me in choosing the right bike from my budget.

Thanks for your time

Colours: Take a look here for full details.

The other main change was with regards to the brake calipers. Up until 2001, they were fitted with the Brembo 4 piston calipers.
From 2002, they changed to the Tokico spec ( I believe) calipers.
In 2003, they introduced the servo ABS system. The last 1150GS's would have been manufactured in 2003.

The Adventure model was introduced in 2002. Basic colours were black and silver. if you want to find out more about BM's, take a look here

General improvements I.e. ABS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You must have a different idea of the use of the English language than those of us that have servo ABS.

Suggest you do a search, perhaps along the lines of Dr ABS BRAKE. hee-hee

Those of us with ABS, but without servo don't have a problem

it's just you servo riders that are a bit limp wristed, and need a bit of help pulling a brake lever :D

Also the front forks changed in 2001 - blue finish on the legs

If I'd known about the crappy servo assisted ABS I would not have got it in the first place Steptoe. But I did not know about this GS website, unfortunately. Having said that, hammering on the brakes still amuses me.

Then again, there are a lot of us, myself included, who would happily get another 1150/adv WITH both ABS and servos.

Horses for courses.

Exactly.
For everyone who moans about the ABS & servo, I expect there are many more who (like me) like it and don't have a problem with it. :D

thanks for that assistance.........

so i see that in 2001 the fork stems were `blued` and that the servo came in at 2002 .

Having looked at numerous adds the blue and white seems to only be on newer models. Were all the colours avaulable from the start of the 1150 production?

thank you

I believe the first colours available from 1999 through to 2001 were mandarin, silver and black. Graphitan replaced the silver option in 2002. I think it was round about 2001/2 that the blue/white paint scheme became an option. Mandarin was replaced in 2003 by sunny yellow.

that makes things a little clearer.............thanks for that
